Build the layer every intent passes through
RSYNQ builds the Semantic Intent Protocol (SIP) — the choreography layer that translates high-level AI intent into coordinated, verifiable action across robots, sensors, edge computers, and industrial systems.
AI models can already reason about what to do. Machines still can't reliably do it. That gap — Moravec's Paradox, restated for the deployment era — is the problem we exist to close. When an agent says "make a latte," "harvest that field," or "run this line," SIP converts the objective into an executable plan, sequences the dependencies, monitors every device in real time, adjusts or safely stops on failure, and verifies the outcome rather than assuming the command worked.
We are a small, Delaware-incorporated team based in the Los Angeles area, working with partners across semiconductors, robotics, manufacturing, and agriculture in the United States and Japan. We are funded, shipping, and early enough that the people who join now will define how this company operates.
How we work
Small team, wide surface. Everyone here owns more than their title implies. If you need a clean lane with clear edges, this will frustrate you.
Global by default. Our team and partners span the U.S., Japan, and Latin America. Early mornings and late evenings happen. We protect them where we can and we are honest that they happen.
Write it down. Decisions, specs, and reasoning live in documents, not in someone's head.
Close the loop. We verify outcomes instead of assuming them. That's the product philosophy and it's also how we run the company.
Open Roles
Human Resources Manager
Location: Torrance, CA — onsite
Type: Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Compensation: Competitive base salary and equity. Pay scale provided to applicants upon request.
About the role
This is RSYNQ's first dedicated HR hire. You will not inherit a function — you will build one. That means writing the handbook, standing up payroll and benefits properly, making our hiring repeatable, and keeping a multi-state, multi-country team compliant as we scale from a founding team to an operating company.
You will work directly with the CEO and CFO on headcount planning, compensation structure, and equity administration. This role suits someone who has done HR inside a startup before and knows the difference between what a 20-person company needs and what a 200-person company needs.
What you'll do
Build the people infrastructure: employee handbook, offer letter templates, onboarding and offboarding, performance review cadence, and job architecture
Own payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS selection and implementation ([Rippling / Gusto / TriNet] or equivalent)
Manage full-cycle recruiting: intake, sourcing strategy, interview design, candidate experience, offers, and closing
Maintain compliance across California and every state where we employ people — wage and hour, meal and rest breaks, sick leave, leave administration, workers' compensation, EEO reporting, and California pay transparency and pay data reporting obligations
Administer international contractor and employer-of-record relationships in Japan, India, Chile, and elsewhere as we expand
Support equity administration in coordination with the CFO and outside counsel: grant paperwork, 83(b) reminders, vesting tracking, and cap table hygiene
Own immigration and work authorization matters with outside counsel, including H-1B, TN, O-1, and transfers as needed
Advise managers on performance, compensation conversations, and employee relations, and run investigations when they arise
Build and maintain the compensation framework — leveling, bands, and market benchmarking
Design the culture mechanisms that actually matter at this stage: onboarding that works, feedback that lands, and a review process people don't dread
What you bring
5+ years in HR, with at least 2 in a startup or high-growth environment where you built rather than administered
Working command of California employment law and multi-state compliance
Hands-on payroll, benefits, and HRIS implementation experience
Full-cycle recruiting experience, including technical roles
Discretion and judgment — you will hold compensation, equity, and personnel information from day one
Comfort operating without precedent and writing the first version of everything
Nice to have
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
Experience supporting engineering and hardware teams
Experience with international employment, EOR platforms, or Japan-based employment practices
Equity administration experience (Carta, Pulley, or similar)
Accounting Manager
Location: Torrance, CA — onsite
Type: Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Compensation: Competitive base salary and equity. Pay scale provided to applicants upon request.
About the role
You will own the accounting function end to end and work directly with our CFO. RSYNQ's revenue model is genuinely complex for a company this size — subscription tiers, usage-based intent token consumption, OEM runtime licensing with per-unit and revenue-share structures, enterprise contracts, and professional services. Getting revenue recognition right across those five streams is the core technical challenge of this role.
You will also be the person who makes diligence painless. We are actively raising and working with strategic partners and investors in the U.S. and Japan. Clean books and fast, accurate answers are a competitive advantage.
What you'll do
Own the monthly close: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and flux analysis, with a close calendar we actually hit
Design and apply revenue recognition policy under ASC 606 across subscription, consumption, licensing, revenue-share, and services arrangements
Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, expense management, and corporate card administration
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reporting packages
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and burn and runway analysis with the CFO
Own sales tax and SaaS taxability analysis, nexus monitoring, business licenses, franchise tax, and coordination with outside tax preparers
Support R&D tax credit documentation and studies
Manage the audit and review process, PBC lists, and technical accounting memos
Prepare investor reporting and support financing diligence, including convertible note accounting and cap table reconciliation with the CFO
Handle international considerations as they arise: intercompany arrangements, foreign currency, withholding, and transfer pricing support with advisors
Select and implement accounting and billing systems as we scale beyond [current stack]
What you bring
5+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting or a technology company controller track
Demonstrated ASC 606 experience with multi-element or usage-based arrangements — this is not a nice-to-have
Full ownership of a monthly close in a prior role
Strong Excel or Google Sheets modeling, and fluency in [QuickBooks / NetSuite / Xero]
Precision under deadline, and the judgment to know which questions need the CFO and which don't
Nice to have
CPA
Startup experience through a priced round, convertible note, or SAFE financing
Experience with billing and revenue systems (Stripe, Chargebee, Maxio, or similar)
Exposure to hardware, OEM licensing, or international operations, particularly Japan
Marketing Manager
Location: Torrance, CA — onsite
Type: Full-time, exempt
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Compensation: Competitive base salary and equity. Pay scale provided to applicants upon request.
About the role
We sell an infrastructure layer to two audiences that could not be more different: robotics developers who will evaluate us by reading documentation and trying the free tier, and enterprise and OEM decision-makers who will evaluate us in a boardroom in Tokyo or Cambridge. You will build the marketing function that speaks credibly to both.
This is a builder's role, not a campaign-execution role. You will be responsible for how RSYNQ is understood in the market — the category story, the developer on-ramp, and the material our founders carry into partner meetings.
What you'll do
Own positioning and messaging for SIP, and translate a technically dense product into language that lands with developers, executives, and investors
Build and run the content engine: technical blog posts, architecture explainers, benchmark and use-case content, case studies, and launch material
Drive developer marketing — documentation quality in partnership with engineering, quickstarts, sample projects, community presence, and the free-to-paid conversion path
Own the website end to end: structure, copy, SEO, conversion, and the ongoing publishing cadence
Produce partner-facing and enterprise material: pitch decks, one-pagers, solution briefs, and technical overviews, including localized editions for Japanese partners
Run demand generation across email, paid, and organic, with honest attribution and reporting
Own event and conference presence, including CES, industry robotics events, and partner meetings — booth, demo narrative, collateral, and follow-up
Manage analyst, press, and industry relations, and support founder speaking opportunities
Build the marketing reporting layer: pipeline contribution, sign-up funnel, activation, and content performance
Manage outside contractors and agencies for design, video, and localization
What you bring
5+ years in B2B technology marketing, with meaningful time on developer tools, infrastructure, API, or platform products
Proven ability to write well about technical subjects without a writer sitting between you and the material
Experience marketing to both a self-serve developer motion and an enterprise sales motion
Hands-on comfort with the modern stack: CMS, marketing automation, analytics, and SEO tooling
Strong visual judgment, even if you are not the designer
Nice to have
Background in robotics, industrial automation, semiconductors, IoT, or physical AI
Experience marketing into Japan or other international markets
Product marketing experience at a pre-Series B company
Japanese language ability
as also the distribution channel
Existing relationships in the Japanese industrial or trading company ecosystem
Benefits and what we offer
Meaningful equity in an early-stage company with real partner traction
Medical, dental, and vision coverage — 50% employer-paid for employees and 50% for dependent
[401(k) with employer match / 401(k) plan
Flexible paid time off / 15 days PTO plus 10 company holidays
Paid parental leave
Home office and equipment stipend
Professional development budget
Direct access to the founding team and to decisions that matter
Work on problems that are unsolved rather than incrementally improved
Our hiring process
Application review — we read every one
Intro conversation — 30 minutes with the hiring manager
Role deep dive — 60 minutes on the substance of the work
Practical exercise — a short, scoped exercise relevant to the role, reviewed together rather than graded in the dark
